With Sentenza.

Tickets were €20; 8pm show. Camper Van Beethoven had been listed on the bill, but hadn't ever confirmed the gig and didn't make it.

A member of the audience sent this review:

BTS played yesterday the Maroquinerie, Paris. Here's a partial setlist:

- Liar
- In The Morning
- Time Trap
- Strange
- Goin' Against Your Mind

Right after that, Doug told the audience that they didn't know how Camper Van Beethoven had appeared on the bill, for this band wasn't there. There had been talks about the tour, but no confirmation, and, hence, no Camper set. The band that opened that night was French group Sentenza (usually a trio but they were only two that night). So, in order to apologize to the people who had wished to see CVB, he said that they had learned three, no, two songs from the CVB repertoire. One was allright, the other being so-so (i.e. when they rehearsed those songs).

They decided to start with the one they hadn't learned well. They followed by another one, starting from the chorus. And indeed they played a third CVB song, which was from New Roman Times (100% sure). Now, from my laptop, after searching the web, I can tell that they played Good Guys and Bad Guys - but I can't be positive as to when it was played (1st or 2nd). After that, it's a bit of a blur for me; they played In your Mind, something from Keep It a Secret - these are guesses, I don't own every record they made. A total of 4 songs perhaps. Back to 100% sure now:

- Car
- Carry the Zero
- Big Dipper
- Conventional Wisdom.

They said bye.
The audience asked for more.
They came back.

Brett Netson expressed his sympathy for the audience, given the fact that 'what's his name' had been elected, and that Americans knew what it felt like in their homeland. That was really kind. The audience didn't know how to react, we were a few to applaud - it's better than to stay mute. Someone in the audience asked for something specific or said something. To this a reflection came from the stage (either Scott or Jim, I was looking at the other three), '6 years old'. This made Doug grin. The encore was Randy Described Eternity, I'm quite sure, not 100% though, as it extended in a beautiful jam, with a great drummer.

An audience recording of the show exist, recorded with a Sony ECM-719 microphone and a Sony Hi-MD RH10.

Thanks very much to Bertrand for writing with the list and notes.
