The new song where at the end they sing something that sounds like "go and ask your mom" is unbelievable, revelatory even. It starts with Scott playing this weird pattern on the drums, who's then joined by Jim Roth, who plays a few repeating notes only to be joined by Doug who does the same. This goes on for about three minutes before any singing starts, and then other than one of the three pieces of Scott's rhythm pattern there is no bass or lower register sound to be heard for about the first five minutes. It is, and I believe you will never, ever read this word from me again, Awesome. It sounds like something Rhys Chatham might have come up with, or maybe the Boredoms. It is so fucking great, or maybe I was just overtired from work.
Thanks to Peter for the setlist and notes.
